Heavy People
05:23
|
|||
heavy people
weighing down on me
and all this pressure
wont leave me be
quick fixes
don't solve anything
and you can't live
with false securities
so open up
i'll dig a hole right through my heart
cause you can't feel
if you don't know who you are
so swallow your pride
i think you've lived long enough to know what you can't join
cause it's hard to breathe
if you no longer see the point
and heavy people
bathing in fake bliss
and all thats beauty
tends to turn to shit
and if you find love
there's always something amiss
and so i give up
i think i'm done with this
and i will give you a way out

Snake Bite
04:32
|
|||
once upon a time
was a short life to be told
a man that no one knows
a man with a lost life
confused and incomplete
he needed a reprieve
confronted by a snake
slithered from the ground
a partner he had found
(the snake said)
you look in bad shape
i will make you free
you can feel alive with me
the snake revealed a grin
as the man took the bite
the venom hidden from sight
so he let it sink in
oh he was cursed for sure
but still was wanting more
he expected the sting to
make him something hes not
how the bite changes your thoughts
so what could he do
just let it flow and bleed
what else could he need?
i hate this part right here
when you talk to yourself in the mirror
youre just looking for support
youve already sold yourself short
i hate this part right here
when you've got to face your fears
theres so many things youve ignored
bought up everything you couldnt afford
he cleaned the blood from his lips
yea it tasted good
of course he knew it would
just a tiny venom drip
and the world will slowly sing
make sure youre listening
it will sing sad story
of a man with no remorse
and the rapture that he gorged
til it all lost its glory
and the rapture turned to anguish
he had but one last wish
to let his story live
and for his loved ones to forgive
he had turned his last trick
and the venom kept sinking in
he forgot where he had been
he was shrinking in his skin
and the world was growing dim
he had let the venom win

Sleep
03:43
|
|||
wasted down in sleep
lifting eyes to see
where our thoughts would creep
they were perfect in our dreams
perfect as she seemed
you could feel the heat beneath
so pretty as she screams
while the claws are digging deep
i saw her once again
it brought dreams to my head
so i left my common sense
laying in my bed
i drifted off instead
it promised me the best
now i've got my suspense
but wheres the happy end?
i saw you're leaving by the look on your face and you know
i don't want to be pushing you that way, so
baby will you please not go?
baby i just cant let go
its just my disease
so don't go
i'm still coughing in my sleeve
just don't go
thats just not what i mean
so don't go
i swear ill fix this whole dream
just don't go
